Full Representation is the best pre-litigation service we offer. We have designed Full Representation to resolve disputes without going to court–while at the same time, preparing for court–but only if we have to.
WHY FULL REPRESENTATION?
With Full Representation, we take completely over (although we give you some assignments). We review your documents, advise you, develop your customized strategy, gather evidence, and then, WE execute. Thus, we communicate directly with your landlord on your behalf in an attempt to resolve the dispute–freeing you up to do other things that you would rather be doing.
If your landlord is unreasonable in settling out of court, Full Representation will likely entitle you to full contingency representation in court. This means that many tenants will pay no additional out-of-pocket money if their disputes end up in court. Instead, we will seek the additional attorney's fees and costs from the landlord after we sign a full contingency agreement.
THE PROCESS
Once you let us know that you're ready to proceed, we will send you an invoice and retainer. Once the retainers are signed, and payment has been collected, we move to the next stage.
Next, we send you an interview to complete and request your documents/evidence. Upon receiving these items from you, we may schedule a client conference, give you homework, or start drafting your documents. In most cases, we prepare documents for you to send to your landlord and documents for us to send to your landlord? Why? Because if we go to court, you will be the witness that needs to testify that you sent the letter to the landlord. I also send a letter or notice to the landlord to let the landlord that you mean business, and we're willing to fight, if necessary.
